Photo Challenge: Musical Instruments

“For this challenge it is all about the beauty of a musical instrument. Get up close and personal, capturing each curve, string, and key of your favorite musical instrument.” - jpgmag.com

For this Photo Challenge, I was able to get my hands on my old clarinet that my mother still had stuffed in her closet xD I played this back in middle school and I’m surprised it’s still around. It’s not as shiny as it used to be, but it can still pose for photographs…

Photo Challenge: 2013 Resolutions

“This challenge is all about the resolutions we make on New Year. Is yours to lose weight, or to recycle more, to volunteer or to get out and take more photographs? Whatever your New Year resolution is we would like to see!” - jpgmag.com

Yep, it’s another Photo Challenge from JPG! For this challenge I decided to photograph something near and dear to my heart, sugar! xD I know I know, it’s not very good for you, but I know I’d just die without it. But since this challenge is about New Year resolutions I thought I’d make mine “one less spoon full” or in other words, cut down on the sugar filled foods I love to eat.

Photo Of The Week: 01.14.13

Hello again everyone! I hope you enjoyed the holidays…yeah it’s been before Christmas since I’ve posted xD But hey you’ve got to take some time to enjoy the season. I know I had an awesome New Year in Daytona Beach, Florida. I’ve also just celebrated my 22nd Birthday, yay I’m one year older! xD

As far as posting, I’d love to say that I’ll be back to the regular routine, but I may be skipping a week here and there due to the moving process. Yes, I’m moving again; this is what being married to an Airman will do to you xD Sadly I will no longer be available for sessions in the Valdosta, GA area. I’ll probably make a more formal announcement next month, but I’ll be keeping you up-to-date on when and where I’ll be available for sessions. In the meantime, let’s check out this week’s Photo of the Week…

This week’s Photo of the Week is one that I captured while in Daytona on New Year’s Eve; this photo features the ferris wheel near main street. A spiraling bokeh of color…

Photo Challenge: What Goes Up, Must Come Down; Stairs

Earlier this week, one of JPG Magazine’s latest Photo Challenges closed for submission. I decided to enter a photo just in time though, and was lucky enough to have this great shot of a stairway down to the beach.

“For this challenge it’s all about the different kinds of staircases there are; color, texture, shape, etc. Stairs can be captured at different angles, cropped, and playing with the light can change the overall mood.”

One of the keys to this photo challenge was not only did your image need to be focused around stairs, but it had to have been taken within the last six months. I took this photo back in October, so my photo made the cut.

Although I was able to submit to the challenge, I did not make it to the “best of” blog post. There were lots of creative and eye tantalizing submissions; what awesome POVs (point of views). To check out some of the best of the best just follow the link below…
